Photo Optic Discharge Lamps

Types of photo optic discharge lamps include xenon short arc lamps, mercury short arc lamps, and short arc metal halide lamps.

Xenon Short Arc Lamps

Xenon short arc lamps are used in optics and in precision illumination for microscopes and other instruments including fiber-optic light sources, endoscopy, minimal invasive surgery, microscopy, surgical illumination, dental bleaching, and surgical headlights.  Short Arc Xenon lamps are also referred to as Xenon Burners or XBO Lamps.  Xenon Long Arc Lamps are structurally similar to short-arc lamps except that the arc containing portion of the glass tube is greatly elongated.  Typical uses include solar cell testing, solar simulation, rapid thermal processing, and material inspection.  Our bulb specialists have the knowledge to find the correct light bulb for your application.

Mercury short arc lamps contain both xenon and mercury in small amounts.  These lamps have a bluish-white spectrum and extremely high UV output.  Uses for Mercury short arc lamps are primarily for Industrial UV curing applications, and fluorescent microscopy.  Mercury Short Arc lamps are often referred to as Mercury Burners or HBO lamps.

Short Arc Metal Halide

Specialty Bulb supplies short arc metal halide lamps (HTI lamps) for endoscopy and other medical fiber-optic applications.  HTI lamps offer high luminance, dichroice coated cold light reflector, daylight color temperature and long life service
